David Hykes, Jr. has been a full time Bench Jeweler for over 12 years.  Starting in a trade shop in Northeast Ohio, he quickly developed a desire to learn more about the industry.  Seeing that he needed to become a more complete goldsmith, he moved with his young wife to Columbus, Ohio.  Here he began an apprenticeship working for one of the largest independently owned fine jewelry stores in the country.  After years of learning the custom design side of the business, he saw that his Father-in-law, a 30+ year veteran of the jewelry industry himself, was creating amazing jewelry using GemVision Digital Goldsmith.  After using DG for a few years and following his Father-in-laws advice, he went to GemVision to begin learning how to use Matrix.  With David’s already strong sense of Custom Design, he is now able to offer his own Matrix Design Services, including wax milling using the GemVision Revo Mill.
